YE Youth Echoes

YE Youth Echoes

The Youth Echoes project kicked off on July 20th when our group met at Plaça d’Espanya in Barcelona. We travelled to our hilltop accommodation near the city, which offered magnificent views. However, the first few nights were tough due to the intense Spanish heat and severe mosquito bites.
Our initial days focused on team-building and getting to know each other through various intercultural nights, including a great Greek evening. Unfortunately, the program was overshadowed by housing issues, including bedbug concerns. This frustration led 10 participants (including the Serbian team) to leave the project early. However, this actually brought the remaining group closer together, and the activities became even more enjoyable.
The workshops were highly engaging. We recorded short videos on European goals, discussed sustainability, and designed a project to address local issues. A major highlight for me was the Slovak day. We organised an activity that everyone really enjoyed, co-hosted the Slovak-Serbian cultural night, and even visited a local festival in our free time to immerse ourselves in Spanish culture.
After an emotional day of goodbyes, we spent our final morning exploring Barcelona before heading home in the evening. Despite the initial challenges, it turned out to be a highly rewarding experience.

I really enjoyed this Erasmus+ project, and I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to be part of it. It was a wonderful experience that I would happily repeat in the future. I met many amazing people from different countries, made new friendships, and created memories that I will always remember. Besides the great experiences, I gained valuable knowledge and skills that I believe will be useful to me even after the project ends.
The food was good, and I enjoyed the meals throughout the project. The activities were interesting, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The only negative aspect was the accommodation. Unfortunately, there was a bedbug infestation, and several participants, including me, were bitten. Because of this, we had to sleep on the floor, which was very uncomfortable. Due to these conditions, several participants decided to leave the project earlier than planned. Despite this unfortunate situation, I still consider the project a very positive experience. I appreciate all the effort the organisers and facilitators put into making the project meaningful, and I am thankful for everything I learned and experienced.
