YE Unplug to plug smarter

The project "Unplug to Plug Smarter" took place from March 9th to March 14th in the town of Fužine, Croatia. Its main goal was to show us how technology and the online world affect our lives, mental health, and relationships. This was achieved through engaging activities, discussions, time spent in nature, and digital detox during individual sessions and subsequent reflections.

Thanks to the organizers, we discovered how "unplugging" from technology from time to time can work wonders in how we perceive life. We also focused on the topic of artificial intelligence, how to use it healthily, and through activities such as creating our own podcast, we realized that sometimes refusing to use AI can foster one's own creativity. In addition, we had time to visit the nearby coastal city of Rijeka, spend time in nature by a beautiful lake, and learn some skills, such as making a fire. We also had the opportunity to get to know peers from different countries. Together we played board games, had fun, and each evening presented individual countries during a fascinating "intercultural night," where we also played Kahoot, tasted various foods, and tried different dances.

The project showed me how important it is to be mindful of our screen time and how beautiful life is even without a phone. Huge thanks go to the organizers from Udruga DrONe, who were very helpful and friendly before, during, and after our stay.

We concluded this project with a wealth of experience, adventures, and wonderful memories.
