YE on Mental Health

The Erasmus+ Mental Health Youth Exchange project took place from October 23rd to 30th in Cristuru Secuiesc, Romania. The project focused on mental health in everyday life. Through various workshops and activities, we had the opportunity to get to know ourselves and learn how to take care of our mental health. We discussed topics such as routines, self-awareness, and even the inner child. The organizers and participants managed to create a safe environment, allowing us to freely discuss important topics without feeling insecure. We formed strong friendships with unique and inspiring people from different countries who helped us discover the best in ourselves. I believe we succeeded in creating a strong community of many like-minded and positive people scattered across Europe.

Our daily schedule was quite packed, full of interesting workshops and activities. However, we always had enough time for fun and sharing deep and meaningful moments. Our conversations were often cheerful, even when discussing more challenging topics, which helped us feel safe in the presence of our friends and organizers. During the project, we stayed in two small motels within walking distance of A.T.A., the center where we spent most of our days. Cristuru, as we discovered, was a small and peaceful town surrounded by beautiful forests and kind people.

This project brought us many practical skills, inspiration, and new perspectives. We broadened our horizons and learned to get along with people from different backgrounds. We learned how to express our feelings more clearly, how important routines are for daily life, how to listen to our inner child, and also how active listening can change our lives. Now we know how small steps can bring big changes and how learning, not just in the classroom, can be beneficial for our lives. We will never forget this experience and the friendships we made during our amazing journey within this program. We are deeply grateful for such a wonderful experience that transformed not only us but also everyone involved in the project.
