Make Your Own Environmental Youth Exchange

From September 22nd to October 6th, a short-term Erasmus+ project took place in Xàtiva, Spain, with ecology and sustainability as its main theme. During these active and intense fourteen days, we experienced many interesting activities that showed us that learning can be fun and inspiring. We made friends, thanks to whom we now have a piece of home scattered all over Europe.

Although our daily schedule was truly packed, there was always time for fun, shared conversations, and sharing experiences. It is rare to meet so many like-minded people in one place who share similar values and energy.

We lived together in a place far from the center, surrounded by nature and animals, in a peaceful atmosphere that became our little sanctuary. We were like a small community, surrounded by sun, good mood, and a pool where we spent our free time together.

We will never forget this stay. In addition to friends, we also take away a lot of practical experience and inspiration. We learned how to organize our own educational workshop, how to lead a group, and we better understood what cooperation, open communication, and respect mean. We realized that even small steps can lead to greater sustainability and that change begins with everyday decisions.

The project brought us new perspectives, broadened our horizons, and showed that learning is possible not only in the classroom but also in an environment full of life, sun, and belonging. We leave with a feeling of gratitude that we could be part of something that truly made sense – for us and for the world around us.
