YE Film Ecology

In December, we participated in a week-long film Erasmus in Poronin, Poland. It was an exceptional experience during which we met participants from Poland, Spain, and Ukraine. From the very first day, a friendly atmosphere prevailed among us, and we quickly formed new friendships. It snowed during our stay, which added a magical winter atmosphere to the entire exchange.

The program focused on film and advertising. We learned about the basics of filmmaking, how advertising is created, and even tried our hand at creating our own short videos. These activities not only taught us something but also brought us closer as a group. One day we spent at a film school in Krakow, where we saw professional equipment and met experts from the film industry. The next day we visited the beautiful town of Zakopane, where we had the opportunity to admire traditional architecture and beautiful winter nature. Throughout our stay, we also tasted some traditional Polish dishes, such as pierogi and barszcz. We cooked together, tasted, and talked about the differences in our cultures. Every evening we had a so-called culture night – a cultural evening, during which one or two countries were presented. Each group prepared a short presentation about their culture, customs, language, or interesting facts. Traditional sweets were also present – the Poles brought pączki, we offered Slovak horalky and gingerbread, the Spanish had churros, and the Ukrainians had homemade cakes. These evenings were not only fun and educational but also delicious and unforgettable. The Erasmus in Poronin was a wonderful experience for us, full of new knowledge, friendships, and inspiration. We would gladly participate in a similar exchange again.
