From June 13th to 21st, we participated in the YAHOO training course in Dilijan, Armenia. The entire project focused on eliminating hate speech from both everyday life and the internet. Enthusiastic people from 9 countries, namely Turkey, Ukraine, France, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovakia, Georgia, and Armenia, participated in the project. Our main program began the day after our arrival in Dilijan.

The first day was dedicated to getting-to-know-you activities. In the following days, we spent most of our time divided into groups and national teams, where we gradually learned teamwork, logical and critical thinking, and last but not least, we learned something new about life and, unfortunately, about hate speech occurring in other countries. During our workshops, we discussed a lot, created various posters, performed theatrical sketches, and presented our projects to others.

During the multicultural evenings, each country had the opportunity to present itself in various ways, for example, through a Kahoot quiz, a short video, a presentation, or even a national dance. And finally, of course, there were some traditional delicacies that we had the opportunity to taste. During each lunch break, we quickly rushed for a short but all the more challenging walk to the nearby waterfalls. We spent our free day in the center of Dilijan, where we had the opportunity to explore its nooks and crannies, and later we moved to Lake Parz, which was located in the local forests amidst beautiful nature.

We are taking away a wealth of unforgettable experiences, acquired knowledge, and especially new friendships from the project. The entire project was truly unique, not only because of the beautiful nature surrounding our hotel but mainly thanks to the organizers Diana and Karen, the APY organization, and of course, our trainers Nelly and Illiasov.
