Getting to Modica was quite challenging, as it was our first time traveling abroad on our own. However, since there were four of us, it was much easier to navigate the airport or catch a bus from Catania to Modica. During the lengthy bus journey, we admired the fascinating views of the Sicilian landscape and picturesque towns. Even though the journey took hours, it felt like minutes. Upon arrival, we were all pleasantly surprised by the accommodation and the hospitality of the organizers. Any negative emotions we had after the long flight and other complications immediately disappeared.
During the first few days, we got to know everyone we were working with on the project. Meeting people from different cultures brought many cultural shocks, such as the Italian 'siesta' time. Trying new cuisine, learning new words in other languages, or simply appreciating the local architecture – these are just a small sample of what could be done and admired here. Additionally, we learned more about Erasmus projects as a whole and the knowledge we would gain after completing the course.
A little intimidated, we dipped our toes into the waters of web radio. We learned to use the equipment, both software and hardware. After a few attempts, we eventually managed everything ourselves. After a successful first live broadcast, the main point of the project arrived – actually broadcasting. It was a new challenge because we had to speak in a language other than our own, but in the end, we all enjoyed our stay and can agree that the time was well spent.
