Stop Bullying Project in Romania

We spent several hot August days in a small town in Romania. We were selected for a project focused on bullying.

What did we gain? Indeed, a lot. We acquired many new skills and knowledge. Through continuous group work, we developed the ability to communicate in English. We constantly improved and focused mainly on presentation skills and leading discussions. This benefits everyone in their personal and career growth. We got to know new nationalities, which taught us greater understanding and the ability to listen to others. Well, for some of us, the project also taught punctuality and independence. Last but not least, we playfully expanded our knowledge of bullying and human rights. I think the project taught us all a lot, and we now view the topic of bullying differently. We learned about the consequences, how to defend against it, and how to help victims of bullying. It opened our eyes, and we will strive to spread knowledge about this issue further among our peers and the younger generation.

The organizer was kind and tried to accommodate everyone, but at times it seemed she had a lot on her plate, which resulted in less attention being paid to the project we were participating in.

We were accommodated in a facility with a beautiful view of the city. In general, it was average, and there's nothing to complain about, apart from minor shortcomings that were found.

Tasting Romanian cuisine was great. It's similar to Slovak cuisine, yet completely different. In any case, it was very tasty and balanced. The only thing that all participants found worth criticizing was the use of plastic cutlery, which was very environmentally unfriendly, and we consider it wasteful. We hope that such details will be addressed in the future.

Our sending organization is also worth mentioning, against which we have no complaints. On the contrary, the coordinator was very kind. She always communicated and helped when needed.

Even though not everything went according to plan and only positively, experiencing this project in Romania was an enrichment that brought a great deal of knowledge. We take away beautiful memories, and the international friendships will not go unnoticed.
