In February, we participated in the Erasmus+ project. Most of us were already friends, so we hoped we would all be selected. And so it happened!! We didn't know a few people, but that's nothing a 10-hour train journey couldn't change. Four of us started the journey in Nitra at the train station, from where we moved to Nové Zámky. There we met the rest of our group.
It was just the beginning of a long time sitting on the train, which we thought we would spend looking out the window. It wasn't like that at all, we immediately started getting to know each other, playing games, and talking about our lives. Of course, this journey was not without a few worries… Since we bought our tickets too late, we couldn't get seats together (a reminder to buy your tickets well in advance!). Fortunately, people were willing to swap places with us so we could stay together. But enough about this endless train journey, let's move on to the experiences of Erasmus itself.
Imagine arriving at a brand new station without even knowing where your hostel is. That can be quite frustrating. We checked in first. Soon, groups from other countries started arriving, and we immediately began to get to know each other. We checked out our rooms and the pleasant atmosphere of the common room in Inpre. Those of us who had already gotten to know each other on the train had a slight disadvantage in that we had to listen to the same things several times a day. We hadn't even unpacked and we immediately went to dinner, which was much needed after a whole day of hunger. Then we had free time. We joined people who seemed friendly and explored Rzeszów together, getting to know each other even more. The next morning, the project officially began.
The first two days were about finding out information about each other and deepening our new friendships. With the help of amazing energizers, teamwork, getting to know different cultures, taking photos, and generally learning about the world of cinematography. Evenings were free, and we always spent them with friends from other countries, further exploring the city.
The next two days were about shooting our own films, so we chose groups and step by step started combining all our ideas. Soon we started filming, during which we learned a lot about filming itself, arranging scenes, editing, and even acting. By the end of the fourth day, we presented our short films to the others.
On the fifth day after breakfast, we received our Youthpasses and then completed our last activity, where we analyzed how we can communicate and learn in a collective. Then we wrote short farewell messages, and the official program was over. Anyway, the day still continued. We started packing our suitcases and went out to say goodbye to the beautiful city of Rzeszów and spend time with our new friends. The next morning it was time to leave. We said our last goodbyes and boarded our train back home, where we were still reliving our wonderful memories from the past week.
