Recycling?! Yes, it happens!

"Recycling?! Yes, it happens!" - Youth Exchange

From July 12th to 20th, 2021, we participated in the youth exchange "Recycling?! Yes, it happens!" in Montamisé, France, which was surrounded by charming nature. We were accommodated in pleasant and fully equipped cabins for 4 people, which provided a sense of privacy and coziness. The organizers were very kind, but unfortunately, we were mostly separated by a language barrier, which our French-English translator tried to overcome.

However, it was also an opportunity to learn a little French. The activities were not designed to overwhelm us with new information about recycling and were sometimes more monotonous, but they fulfilled the purpose of non-formal education. We had the opportunity to fully engage our creativity and use our teamwork skills in creating final projects on the topic of plastics and water consumption in the form of plays, poems, or videos. The program was also spiced up with a trip to the beautiful nearby city of Poitiers, which is awarded as a "City of Art and History," and to the modern amusement park Futuroscope, which is equipped with unique cinematographic and audiovisual techniques. Despite some unfulfilled expectations, the project enriched each of us in its own way and gave us new experiences for the future.
