Environment as a culture of education (Armenia)

It had been a long time since I participated in a youth exchange. Therefore, when I learned about the project "Environment as a culture of education" in Armenia at the end of May, after weighing the pros and cons, I decided to give it a chance. So I packed my bags and set off on June 9th. After 2 days of travel, I finally arrived at my destination.

The project took place in the beautiful surroundings of the city of Tsaghkadzor, located in the center of Armenia. Shortly after arriving, I met the other project participants, who came from Armenia, Georgia, Belarus, Moldova, Great Britain, and Ukraine.

The main goal of the project was to identify major environmental problems, such as various types of pollution, deforestation, global warming, and to find ways for us, humanity, to solve them. To achieve this, the organizer invited an expert with knowledge in the field of environment.

Throughout the week, we had the opportunity to learn more about environmental problems that occur not only in Armenia but also in other European countries. This way, we more easily understood that we must take the same steps to save the environment in our own countries as well.

In addition to the main activities, we also had free time. On the third day of the project, we went to Lake Sevan, where we enjoyed freshly caught fish at a restaurant right on the lake shore. Two days later, we went to the capital city of Yerevan, where an entire club was rented for us. On the way there, we also visited other beautiful places.

The week flew by, and it was time to say goodbye. So, full of new friendships and beautiful memories, I embarked on the long journey home again, reminiscing about all the wonderful moments we shared.

I would like to thank the Youthfully Yours organization for giving me the opportunity to participate in the project even during these challenging times. I believe I gained a unique experience that will encourage me to raise awareness about environmental issues here in Slovakia.
