Drama Work Experience 2

Drama Work Experience 2
The Drama Work Experience project took place from November 26th to December 3rd in the beautiful capital of Greece - Athens. The project was organized by the Greek organization Iasis, which works with youth and people with disabilities. Thanks to the support of the Erasmus+ program and cooperation with the Slovak organization YouthFullyYours and 3 other different NGOs from Germany, Lithuania, and Italy, the project was able to be created and implemented.
On the first day of the project, we talked about ourselves, our studies, goals, dreams, as well as our expectations, concerns, and hopes for the project. We slowly began to discover new people around us and also started to think more about the things we like or dislike. The first day passed very quickly, and we had a lot of fun during the activities and games.
On the second day of the project, we went to the center of Athens to explore the new city, but not only that. We were given a task to complete while exploring. We were divided into groups of 5 members, and our mission was to conduct interviews with several Greeks and find out more about their opinions on topics such as work and life in Greece. Filming the interviews was fun, but exploring the city was even more so. We saw many historical sites and beautiful streets. In my opinion, the best place in Athens is the mighty Acropolis. Just the sight of the ancient Greek citadel is magnificent.

The next day of the project, we continued and did more and more drama-related activities and games. We learned to express our emotions through various games. But most importantly, we tried to talk openly about our emotions. Dramatic activities helped us express ourselves. After the activities, in our free time, most of us decided to take a walk to the beach. The water wasn't the best for swimming, but a few brave souls, including myself, jumped in and enjoyed swimming in the Mediterranean Sea at the beginning of December.
I also don't want to forget to write more about our accommodation, which was great. We had nice rooms with towels and sheets. The temperature in the rooms was pleasant, and most days I slept very well. The food was really great, but there was more of it than we could consume. Some of it had to be thrown away, which I wasn't too happy about, but it's better to have more food than less. We tried a lot of Greek cuisine. Souvlaki was amazing, but my favorite was Cretan dakos. I even learned the recipe, so I can prepare it at home. It's a simple salad with feta cheese, but when you have quality ingredients, it's a symphony. In the evenings, we organized cultural evenings where we got to know the culture, traditions, and dances of each participant better. It was fun because we approached it in a lighthearted spirit and wanted to enjoy our time together. The most interesting cultural evening for me was about Lithuania, because until then, this country was unknown to me. I learned a lot, and now I feel like I want to visit the country as soon as possible, and thanks to the project, I have a lot of useful information.
At the very end, I would like to thank all the facilitators, participants, NGOs, and the Erasmus+ project. It was a great experience for me. I hope to visit Greece again soon, as there is still much to discover. Until then - Malaka.
