CTRL+ALT+NATURE

The CTRL-ALT NATURE project took place in the town of Recoaro Terme in northern Italy from April 20th to 27th, and it was one of the best Erasmus+ program experiences I have ever had.

Twenty-three participants from nine European countries, including Italy, Spain, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Greece, Denmark, Hungary, Lithuania, and Curaçao, took part in the project.

The aim of the project was to teach youth workers game-based digital learning activities. On the first day, we started with team-building activities and completed several group challenges, such as creating an anthem, writing poems, creative photography, and much more.

In the following days, we explored new ways of designing games and investigated what makes a game fun and engaging for others. We also spent a lot of time brainstorming and developing our ideas together.

The final outcome of the project was a game created by each team, which could later be used in youth work and volunteer activities to educate people on important topics such as mental health, the environment, values, and a balanced lifestyle. All groups presented their games, and other participants had the opportunity to play them. Afterwards, we exchanged feedback to help each other improve and further develop our ideas.

During our free time, we had the opportunity to explore the beautiful nature around Piccole Dolomiti and hike to Rifugio Campogrosso, where we enjoyed amazing views and coffee.

One evening was dedicated to an intercultural night, where each national team brought traditional food and drinks from their country and presented them to the others. I also learned many new phrases and songs in different languages. We spent the rest of the evenings dancing and tasting various flavors of Italian ice cream. The last evening was dedicated to a farewell pizza party and the official Youthpass ceremony.

Thanks to this experience, I gained a lot of new knowledge and skills that I will be able to use in my personal life and in future youth work, and I am very grateful for that. In addition, I created unforgettable memories with many amazing new friends.
