We are learning... but not formally

We learn.. but non-formally

On Wednesday, February 13, 2019, we had the opportunity to meet with students from one of the (most prestigious) Košice gymnasiums, Park mládeže 5. After a short "ice-breaking" and a few "warm-ups," we engaged the students in two activities through which we presented the concept of non-formal education. We introduced the students to eight key competencies, and concepts such as "Youthpass" and "soft skills."

We dedicated the second part of the meeting to opportunities for short-term and long-term mobilities for youth within the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programs. As our group consisted of second-year students, there was most interest in youth exchanges, which are accessible to young people from the age of 13 and are less time-consuming compared to long-term volunteering activities. Youthfully Yours members; Noemi, Maroš, and Ivan shared their personal experiences with these opportunities and tried to motivate young people to take advantage of them.

We thank the active young people who surprisingly motivated us in developing our activities, we thank the school administration who met us halfway and allowed us to work with their students, and last but not least, Mrs. Professor Gáborová for her initiative and help in organizing the meeting. We gained the know-how for the implemented activities thanks to IUVENTA - Slovak Youth Institute through the OUTDOOR activities training in youth work.
