Path to Success – Empowering Youth on Their Career Journey

The "Path to Success" project is a European initiative aimed at supporting young people in their transition to the labor market. It focuses on labor market integration, career readiness, and quality career guidance, with an emphasis on inclusion and empowering youth workers. The goal is to increase employability through skill development, access to counseling, and targeted support for disadvantaged groups. In line with the European Year of Skills, the project promotes vocational training and skill adaptation to align young people's ambitions with current labor market needs. Across Europe, young people face challenges such as financial barriers, limited access to counseling, and few opportunities for non-formal education. These shortcomings lead to a mismatch between what employers are looking for and the skills young people possess. According to the European Commission, even before the pandemic, 77% of businesses had difficulty finding employees with suitable competencies.

To address these issues, the Path to Success organization began creating the Career Guidance in Action digital handbook, which contains best practices and tools for effective youth counseling. This practical guide helps youth workers and educators prepare young people for entry into working life through inclusive and empowering methods. The project is also finalizing a career guidance program that will provide youth workers with additional methodologies and tools to better guide young people. This will ensure personalized support, especially for those facing systemic disadvantages, such as low-income backgrounds, isolation in rural areas, or cultural barriers.

Project collaboration came to life during the second transnational meeting in Târgoviște, Romania. Partners discussed progress there and jointly designed the upcoming Job Interview Card Game – a creative tool that helps young people practice interviews in an engaging and accessible way. This resource reflects the project's innovative approach to building soft skills, which are crucial for employment.

Through practical tools, collaboration, and alignment with EU youth priorities, the Path to Success project prepares the next generation for a rapidly changing world of work, where skills, inclusion, and self-confidence are key to success.
