TC Human Rights Odyssey

The training will take place from May 25-30, 2026 in Karlovac, Croatia.

Main objective: To enable youth workers to understand, promote, and protect human rights in an increasingly digital and technologically advanced world.

Project goals:

The Human Rights Odyssey training explores how human rights must evolve in a rapidly changing world shaped by digital, biological, and emerging technologies. Participants will:

Analyze the current state of human rights with a focus on fourth-generation rights
Explore key topics such as digital sovereignty, mental integrity, genetic privacy, and the right to disconnect
Develop critical thinking and practical approaches to protecting human dignity in modern society
Engage with local communities and connect theory with real-world action

Working language: English.

Number of participants: 3

Ideal participant profile:

18+
Have a strong interest in human rights and new societal challenges
Want to learn, reflect, and actively participate
Feel comfortable communicating and collaborating in English
Are prepared to engage with local communities and step out of their comfort zone
Have some prior experience, knowledge, or curiosity regarding topics such as digital rights, privacy, or ethics

Important information:

Accommodation, meals, materials, and travel costs (up to the maximum allowed amount) are covered.

Travel cost limits: 309 €

Extremely important: Keep all travel documents and tickets for reimbursement – the participant must retain travel documents to and from the venue and submit them / send them to the project organizer according to their instructions.

Insurance: Travel insurance is not covered or reimbursed by the organizers. Each participant is obliged to arrange health insurance valid in Croatia.

Purchase tickets only after written confirmation from the organizers.
All participants must attend all meetings and subsequent activities for disseminating results.
