TC Beyond the Feed: Digital Tools and Disinformation

The youth exchange will take place from April 19-25, 2026 in Sant Adrià del Besòs, Barcelona, Spain.
Main objective: To combat online disinformation, strengthen critical thinking, and promote healthy digital engagement and responsible activism.
Project goals:
1. Explore the impact of disinformation, social media, and artificial intelligence on young people's beliefs, emotional well-being, and democratic participation — and understand not only what happens online, but also why it matters.
2. Uncover the hidden mechanics of the digital world and examine how algorithms, mainstream media narratives, emotional manipulation, and online polarization shape public opinion and influence young people's attitudes.
3. Create an intercultural learning space where participants can exchange experiences, challenges, and initiatives from their environments through dynamic activities.
4. Propose practical solutions against disinformation, foster a healthy relationship with social media, and engage in digital activism within local youth communities.
5. Empower young people as informed digital citizens capable of actively participating in the online environment and meaningfully contributing to democracy.
6. Strengthen European cooperation and shared values, promote relationships among young people in Europe, and deepen participants' understanding of the European Union.

Ideal participant profile:
18+
interested in and/or active in the digital field (youth worker, young professional, activist, researcher, etc.)
motivated to take an active role throughout the training
Important information:
Accommodation, meals, materials, and travel costs (up to the maximum allowed amount) are covered.
Travel cost limits: 309 €
Extremely important: Keep all travel documents and tickets for reimbursement – the participant must retain travel documents to and from the venue and submit them / send them to the project organizer according to their instructions.
Insurance: Travel insurance is not covered or reimbursed by the organizers. Each participant is required to arrange health insurance valid in Spain.
Purchase tickets only after written confirmation from the organizers.
All participants must attend all meetings and subsequent dissemination activities.
