STEAM: Female STEAM mindset – Girls in a man's world
Despite global progress, gender inequality in STEM fields remains a significant issue, with women making up less than 30% of researchers, according to UNESCO. Studies suggest that girls often show less interest in STEM subjects than boys, a trend influenced by social inclusion factors. Inclusive STEM schools have shown promising results in fostering interest and talent among underrepresented students. Europe specifically needs more ICT workers, partly due to low female participation in computer science. This early decline in interest in STEM threatens future labor markets and economic competitiveness, undermining EU educational goals and financial resilience.
Our vision
Our goal is to increase girls' engagement and enthusiasm for STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) subjects. We strive to address persistent gender inequality in STEM by integrating arts and sports into STEM education. We provide engaging learning experiences that spark curiosity and encourage girls to explore and excel in these areas.

Innovative solution
To address the challenges of gender inequality in STEM, we are proposing an innovative STEAM approach that combines arts, sports, and STEM education. This interdisciplinary method will offer engaging and holistic learning experiences, making STEM subjects more attractive and accessible to girls. Our key objectives are:
Stimulate curiosity: Use artistic elements and sports to ignite interest in STEM subjects.
Foster understanding: Improve comprehension of STEM concepts through creative expression and physical activities.
Build self-confidence: Empower girls with different learning styles to explore STEM fields with confidence.
Promote equality: Reduce gender inequality by fostering inclusivity in STEM education.
By addressing gender inequality in STEM through this innovative STEAM approach, we aim to create a more inclusive and engaging learning environment that fosters interest and excellence in STEAM. Our project is not only about reducing gender inequality but also about strengthening EU efforts toward inclusion, diversity, and excellence in education. Together, we can empower the next generation of female scientists, engineers, and innovators, paving the way for a brighter and fairer future in STEM.
