YE Re-Mind Your Business
In May 2025, we, the Slovak team, had an amazing opportunity to participate in the youth exchange project "Re-Mind Your Business" in Weicherdange, Luxembourg. The project brought together young people from various countries to learn about entrepreneurship, sustainability, and innovation in an interactive and practical way. The main goal of the project was to show that entrepreneurship is not just a backup plan, but a smart and active way to create your future. It particularly focused on helping NEET young people (young people not in education, employment, or training) find their place in the job market by learning how to become job creators instead of job seekers.
From the very first day, there was a friendly atmosphere full of energy. We started with team-building activities to get to know each other. The program followed the Design Thinking methodology, a creative process that helps solve problems and develop new ideas. Throughout the week, we focused on different phases of this process:
Empathize – We explored real problems faced by young people in our countries and tried to understand their needs and challenges.
Define – We worked in teams to choose one specific problem and define the main issue we wanted to solve.
Ideate – This was the most creative part! We brainstormed many possible solutions and encouraged each other to think outside the box.
Prototype – We created simple versions of our solutions using drawings, applications, or presentations.
Test – We tested our ideas and improved them based on feedback from others.
Prepare Presentation – We prepared our final presentations, just like real entrepreneurs preparing to pitch to investors.
On the last day, each team presented their project on stage.
In addition to the Design Thinking sessions, we also participated in many interesting activities:
We discussed sustainability, both for our planet and in our personal lives.
We attended workshops created and led by the participants.
We learned about opportunities for young people in Europe.
We created social campaigns to raise awareness about the topics we were learning about.
This project was much more than just learning how to start a business. It helped us grow as individuals. We learned how to be adaptable, creative, and work well in a team. We understood that it's okay to make mistakes as long as we learn from them. And most importantly, we saw that each of us can be a change-maker. We returned to Slovakia with new ideas, friends from all over Europe, and a strong motivation to apply what we learned in our local communities. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
