YE Elec-trick+

YE Elec-trick+

YE Elec-trick+

Thanks to YouthFullyYours and CoconutWork, we had the opportunity to experience an unforgettable week in Luxembourg. The theme of the Elec-trick+ project was to gain a deeper understanding of the decision-making process in European institutions and to expand knowledge about youth activity in individual countries. I believe we gained very important, current, and interesting information on these topics from all over Europe.

Right from the first days, we started with presentations about the reality in our country. We focused mainly on decision-making in politics and on the approach and activity of youth in this area. This gave us a realistic and very interesting picture of the whole of Europe through the eyes of young people. However, we did not only present our countries from a political perspective – at international dinners, we were treated to interesting quizzes, dances, and great flavors, through which each of us brought something from our home.

Our favorite program was a simulation "game" in which we could experience firsthand how negotiations and decision-making take place at the European level. Each of us had a position, which could be either a representation of a member country or a European institution (e.g., the European Commission). Our negotiations followed precise regulations, and in the end, we managed to resolve the issue of preparing chocolate from vegetable oils. In this way, we were able to gain real experience with decision-making at the European level.

Of course, our week was not only about presentations and work, but also about traveling and getting to know great young people from all over Europe. We spent our free day in the capital city. Luxembourg City appears like a fairytale city, nestled among hills with beautiful nature and stunning architecture. We thoroughly enjoyed this quality time together – we spent it walking in the city, relaxing in the park, and experiencing culture at the Museum of Modern Art.

Full of energy, we embarked on another big challenge – to create an online campaign about obstacles to youth engagement. The videos, presentations, infographics, and programs created were truly creative and could easily be implemented in real life – they would certainly bring the desired result and help activate youth both in politics and in other areas.

On the last day, we had the opportunity to attend a conference on social economy at the European Parliament headquarters in Luxembourg. It was a real experience from the world of large European institutions; we could see what negotiations and conferences look like in real life. An unforgettable experience was also the museum in the same building, which interactively provides very important information about the European Parliament – about its role, significance, and the personalities who currently lead it.

Our week in Luxembourg was full of unforgettable experiences – we gained new important knowledge, met great young people, and had the opportunity to discover the beauties of a new country. This would not have been possible without the organizations YouthFullyYours and CoconutWork. Thank you, and we look forward to further cooperation!:)
