Training the trainers – or about the FaciliTrain project in Newcastle Upon Tyne
Whenever you decide to travel abroad for an ERASMUS+ project, it's always a small-big adventure. It begins the moment you plan your trip, search for the most affordable flight, and full of anticipation and curiosity, await "D-day." This was no different for our project, for which we traveled to Great Britain. Specifically, to the seaside town of Whitley Bay, located near the coast in the northeast of England. Each participant had a different travel plan, some with a layover in Mallorca, some in Dublin, so we all met immediately upon arrival in the aforementioned city, where the salty scent of the sea was already in the air...

Since the project itself was primarily focused on developing skills for successful facilitation of non-formal education activities, the majority of this training course took place indoors. As future lecturers, or rather trainers, coming from various parts of the world, we dedicated the first day primarily to getting to know the participants, also through an interesting intercultural evening, full of various games, cultural traditions, and fun...

Over the next 8 days, through interactive activities, we practiced developing communication and presentation skills, public speaking, crisis situation resolution, teamwork, group problem-solving, and many other abilities necessary for a budding lecturer...

The culmination of the project was primarily the preparation and subsequent implementation of our own "mini-trainings," which we had the opportunity to try out on ourselves, and then to evaluate each other with constructive feedback...

In conclusion, we can only state that leaving your home for a while and traveling for any Erasmus+ project is one of the best experiences you can gain! All you have to do is choose a topic that is close to you from the offer and go for the adventure!
