TEAMTALK: Youth Exchange in Romania

From September 6th to 16th, 2024, we participated in an Erasmus+ project near the Romanian town of Călărași. A day before the project began, some of us flew to Bucharest, where we spent the entire day exploring the beauty of this historic city. We walked through the streets, visited several monuments, and soaked in the atmosphere of the capital.

On the first day of the project, we met with all participants from various parts of Europe, including the entire Slovak team. Right from the start, we created a friendly and open atmosphere. Together, we moved to our accommodation, which pleasantly surprised us. It was a place that combined comfort with nature and provided an ideal environment for the development of our project activities.

Throughout the program, we had the opportunity to communicate with people our age from different cultures and countries. It was an unforgettable experience that broadened our horizons and taught us a lot about trust, patience, and communication in a multicultural environment. One of the most interesting moments was the “Culture Nights” – evenings during which individual national groups presented their countries, traditional foods, drinks, and even shared bits of their humor. Thanks to these evenings, we got to know the richness of cultures from different parts of the world.

An indispensable part of the project was the beach games, which we played countless times, and communal dancing was also a must, bringing a lot of joy and relaxation to our program. This entire project provided us with an invaluable experience that enriched us not only on a personal level but also in our ability to communicate and collaborate better with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
