TC Human Rights Odyssey

We had the opportunity to participate in an Erasmus+ training called the Human Rights Odyssey. It took place from May 25th to 29th, 2026, in Karlovac, Croatia. The project was dedicated to empowering youth through non-formal education and innovative methods to address modern challenges such as digital fatigue and social exclusion. The training focused on exploring how we protect human dignity in this new reality. The aim of the training was to analyze the state of human rights in the contemporary world, with a focus on the fourth generation of rights.

The first day was dedicated to getting to know each other and building a safe space where we could feel free to make mistakes and not feel judged. During our stay, we explored new topics through various learning and repetition methods. Every activity we did led us to create our own Karlovac Declaration on the Fourth Generation of Human Rights.

Each day consisted of structured sessions, guided discussions, project presentations, and group repetitions. Each session and topic were approached with different learning methods. These exercises taught us to work in teams, wisely choose information from the internet, look at things from a different perspective, and express our opinions, all while learning more about the given topic.

Karlovac is a small city, but it has beautiful architecture. The abundance of greenery impressed me at first sight. Even though it wasn't a large city, all participants had evening plans after the program. I feel like we explored every corner of this city that we could, and we were not disappointed.

Participating in this training was a new but unforgettable experience for me. I gained knowledge on a topic that interested me. I was able to travel and discover another country while meeting inspiring people and hearing their stories. This project gave me the feeling that learning is an opportunity and a part of everyday life, not an obligation.
