During my days in the Bulgarian city of Varna, I had the opportunity to participate in an Erasmus+ training course focused on gamification in education. The project brought together participants from several European countries to discover how game elements can be used for more effective learning, team cooperation development, and active youth engagement.

Throughout the training, we primarily worked through experiential and non-formal education. The first days were dedicated to getting-to-know-you activities, team games, and building trust among participants. Thanks to interactive methods, we quickly got to know each other and created an international environment full of new ideas and cultural exchange.

The main theme of the project was gamification – the use of games in education. Through various activities and simulations, we explored how games can increase participant motivation, foster creativity, and aid in acquiring new knowledge. Most workshops were based on practical activities, during which we tried out the individual methods ourselves.

A significant part of the program consisted of debate games and activities developing critical thinking. In international teams, we discussed current social topics, learned to argue, and sought solutions to various problems. Such games showed us that learning can be not only effective but also fun.

In addition to the educational part, we also had the opportunity to get to know the city of Varna, its culture, and the local environment. During our stay, we were accommodated at the Detelina hotel, which provided us with a pleasant base throughout the project.

Participating in the training course was a valuable experience for me. I gained new knowledge about gamification, learned new methods of working with youth, and at the same time met many inspiring people from different countries. The project showed me that learning does not have to take place only in a traditional way, but can be based on play, cooperation, and the active involvement of every participant.
