Step into Democracy PL

Step into Democracy PL
From August 16 to 24, 2024, a dynamic youth exchange project took place in Poronin, Poland, bringing together young participants from Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. The project aimed to foster civic engagement among youth, with the goal of increasing participants' awareness of active citizenship and their role in shaping the future of Europe. During the nine-day program, participants engaged in various activities, including workshops on the history and importance of democracy, creative sessions to promote civic participation, and discussions with local residents in Zakopane.
The experience was enriched by cultural evenings where each national group presented their traditions, fostering mutual understanding and respect. One of the program's highlights was a visit to Zakopane and the Tatra National Park, which offered a unique blend of education and adventure. The group also collaborated on creating a democracy handbook and developing a campaign to motivate young people to vote. The final days focused on disseminating project results and reflecting on the experiences gained.
This exchange provided an invaluable opportunity for cultural exchange, personal development, and the enhancement of communication skills in a multicultural environment. Participants left with a deeper understanding of active citizenship and a strong motivation to contribute positively to their local communities.
