Sports 'R' us - Italy

Sports 'R' us - Italy
Sport has always been an important part of our lives. However, even this social phenomenon has to contend with several problems that need to be discussed. Our exchange, named Sport'R'us, took place in this spirit, in the picturesque town of Nuoro, located in the heart of Sardinia. We set off for Italy as a group of 5 young people for whom sport is an important part of everyday life.
Among the activities themselves, we can mention discussions, workshops, and physical activities, which aimed to familiarize participants with the issue of inclusion in sport. With delegations from Spain, Italy, Poland, Bulgaria, and of course Slovakia, we also had the opportunity to devise sports activities for a local children's camp, climb one of the highest hills around Nuoro (which was adorned with a statue of Jesus Christ), and as part of the program, we also got to the charming coast, where we spent a whole day playing volleyball and swimming in the Tyrrhenian Sea.
The exchange took place against the backdrop of the ongoing Olympic Games in Japan. During shared breakfasts, we could enjoy the amazing performances of the athletes, but the greatest joy came while watching the gold medal race of our Zuzka Rehák-Štefečeková, whom our Slovak delegation cheered for.
And what did the exchange itself offer us? Experiences that motivate us to participate in other youth exchanges. It is very motivating to be in an international environment where you have the opportunity to improve your language skills, or practice your creativity, the ability to present not only yourself but especially your country. From this point of view, our participation in Italy fulfilled its purpose.
We look forward to further activities in cooperation with Youthfully Yours SK!
