Solidarity First

Freedom, equality, human rights? These are also values of the European Union! In addition, solidarity is one of them. How we perceive it, what it means to us, and whether it has or does not have boundaries for us, we found out during an unforgettable week in Italy on the project Solidarity first: Development of a united society.

Together with participants from Italy, Estonia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Spain, we also learned about the goals of the European Union, how it works, and how we can get involved in the various programs it offers. For example, we understood how beneficial volunteering is for the community, but also that thanks to it, we can also advance ourselves, whether in our personal or career life. We made friends and thus brought the European Union even closer with other people on the project.

We spent our free time in the sunny part of Naples, and evenings were spent getting to know other cultures. Our Slovak team also showed something of our traditions, typical sweets, and customs. The whole week was so inspiring, stimulating, and fun that we would repeat it right away!
