The day before the project, we all met at Vienna Airport, and our journey to Bulgaria began. In Bulgaria, we were greeted by a pleasant driver who safely took us to the Royal Bansko hotel in Bansko. On the way, we couldn't miss McDonald's, so we took a break there from the long journey. We arrived at the hotel after midnight and immediately went to bed.
On the first day, we got to know all the project participants, who were from Romania, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, and Latvia. We discussed the project's goals and potential benefits. In the afternoon, we had a “treasure hunt” in the city, and we ended the day with board games in the conference room.
On the second day, we talked about the opportunities offered by the EU, and then we were engaged by a team from Romania, who introduced us to Youth Pass. In the evening, we spent time cheering for our ice hockey representatives.
On the third day, the Latvian team presented various EU institutions to us. In the afternoon, we participated in a workshop on the topic of “Youth debate,” where we expressed our opinions on the given topics.
On the fourth day, we had free time, which we decided to spend at the hotel with our new friends. This meant we were in the pool, sauna, or gym all day.
On the fifth day, our team organized the “EU simulation” workshop, where participants were divided into teams representing different EU states and decided on the adoption of new laws. In the evening, we had a cultural night where each country presented its food, culture, and traditions.
The topic of the sixth day was the low voter turnout in the European Parliament elections, about which the Spanish team told us more. In the afternoon, our team organized the “My dream Europe” workshop, which aimed to present our ideal Europe in 25 years in the form of a theatrical play.
On the seventh day, we summarized the project together in the form of videos, a brochure, and a blog that we had been working on all week.
On the last day, we were all taken to the airport in the morning, where we said goodbye to our new friends. Of course, there were tears in our eyes. Our team then boarded the plane, and we said goodbye to each other in Vienna.
