Entrepreneurial Tool Kit for Youth

The expedition of the Slovak team, consisting of Slavo and Denis, headed straight to what Denis called "European Rio," but he meant the town of Santander, located on the coast of Spain in the Bay of Biscay, washed by the Atlantic Ocean. Unbelievable beauty, a must-see...

The project itself, titled "Entrepreneurial Tool Kit for Youth," took place in the small farming village of Penagos, about 20km from Santander. A truly amazing place, reflecting real rural life in Spain, full of farm animals, nature, and especially smiling locals.

The project's theme was to provide a universal tool for participants to implement entrepreneurial and personal projects. Silvia, our trainer, showed us the individual phases of this method in several workshops, and we also focused on the practical application of business plans in life. We participated in a conversation with the owners of a Spanish farm and the activities taking place there, and we had the opportunity to see how their agro-business operates.

Of course, the participants from other countries on the project were also important to us. We met young people from Bulgaria, Estonia, Lithuania, Greece, Italy, Spain, and Poland. And believe me, we received a dose of inspiration and life stories.

The first day started right away, and Slavo and I had to prepare things for the "cultural evening"... a flag, homemade sausages, cheese, sweets, small samples of Slovak drinks, and off we went. We even marked the participants from other countries on their hands with a Slovak flag, and it was done. Everyone was satisfied, and we were most satisfied that we made a good name for Slovakia.

To top it all off and to give us an idea from another sphere, the organizers arranged a meeting with a local artist who provided us with valuable insight into the functioning of her business, her life story, and advice for achieving our own goals. It's mainly about hard work and pursuing your goals, but having a system and knowledge is half the battle... The project's goal was successfully met; we learned how, and now we just need to act so that we can all be happy and successful.

At the end of the project, we also had the opportunity to hike, during which we got a little lost, but we arrived for dinner on time. We also visited a park where we saw elephants, zebras, antelopes, camels, and all the animals we don't usually see in Slovakia. The excursion of the entire town of Santander was also welcome; we got to know Spanish architecture, surf beaches, castles, cliffs, and other beautiful places.

An excellent travel experience, new friendships from all over the European Union, business knowledge, practice of communication skills (both English and Spanish), a brutal dose of inspiration – these are the real reasons why we are glad we could be part of this Spanish adventure.
