TC Preventing Youth Radicalisation in the Digital Age: Tools for Youth Workers

The youth exchange will take place from May 4 – May 12, 2026 in Bansko, Bulgaria.
Main Goal: This training will equip youth workers with knowledge and practical tools to understand modern forms of youth radicalization and extremism, and to strengthen prevention and early intervention in their daily work with young people.
Project Objectives:
Deepen youth workers' understanding of current pathways to radicalization, especially the online dimension and hybrid extremist narratives.
Equip participants with preventive toolkits (activities, facilitation methods, digital resilience exercises) that build protective factors such as belonging and critical thinking.
Develop the ability to recognize early signs and respond safely, ethically, and without stigmatizing young people.
Improve youth workers' ability to collaborate with families as partners in prevention, including online safety and communication skills.
Strengthen the ability to refer and cooperate with local services through clear, youth-friendly, and rights-based pathways.
Support youth workers in creating local preventive action plans and partnerships that suit their environment.

Number of participants: 2 – 3
Ideal participant profile:
Currently works regularly with young people.
Socially engaged and motivated individual.
Open to innovative and creative learning methods.
Ready to actively participate in all project phases.
Committed to implementing at least one follow-up activity.
Able to communicate effectively in English.
Participants must be over 18 years old and not currently on an ESC voluntary service.

Important information:
Accommodation, meals, materials, and travel costs (up to the maximum allowed amount) are covered.
Travel cost limits: 309 €
Extremely important: Keep all travel documents and tickets for reimbursement – the participant must keep travel documents to and from the venue and submit them / send them to the project organizer according to their instructions.
Insurance: Travel insurance is NOT covered by the organizers nor reimbursed. Each participant is obliged to arrange health insurance valid in Bulgaria.
Purchase tickets only after written confirmation from the organizers.
All participants must attend all meetings and subsequent dissemination activities.
